Roof Top Location
Nestled beneath and around one of the new seven wonders of the world, the unique, flat-topped Table Mountain, on the shores of the tempestuous Southern Atlantic ocean, it is not difficult to see why Cape Town frequently grabs the top spot on “most beautiful city and destination in the world” lists. No wonder filmmakers and photographers find it to be such an alluring location.
And indeed, the instantly recognisable silhouette of the mountain has formed the beautiful backdrop in many movies and television shows. It has even featured in the music videos for some internationally acclaimed, big name artists, including Lilly Allen, Coldplay, and Kelly Clarkson.
Now you too can have an unobstructed, rooftop view of Table Mountain for your next shoot.
Located on top of the MediaHive building, the area is over 50 square metres in size and offers a perspective on the city’s most famous landmark, with the tree-lined Northern suburbs in the foreground.
The MediaHive rooftop space boasts tidy tile flooring with protruding gravel in between. However, if you’re going to need a more even surface that will allow your dancers, models, actors or entertainers to pull some smooth dance moves, a wooden floor can be ordered.
Your crew can travel light, since any equipment that you might need, such as lights, cameras, reflectors and scrimms, can be rented – or bought – from the Visual Impact studio, which is conveniently located on the ground floor of the building. In order to plug in, there are 16 amp power points available on the roof.
