WOELAG music video workshop
Thirty grade ten learners from schools throughout the Cape Peninsula including Wellington, Kraaifontein, Franschhoek, Malmesbury and Manenberg participated in the first stage of Naspers Synergy's third annual Woelag! youth project that encourages pupils who do not always have cultural opportunities, to explore the creative industries such as film, music and television.
Applying their skills to the various disciplines of film making including make-up, wardrobe, lighting, directing and camera work, the learners shot a music video during the two-day workshop that was presented by local film company Passing Trains and digital & broadcasting specialists, Visual Impact.
The music video for local band Ysterkoei, winners of Rockspaaider 2007, will be broadcast on DSTV's music channel MK, early next year.
